Day 7 - My First YouTuber | The YouTuber Challenge

YouTube has been around for a seemingly long time. In YouTube's early days, the popular thing to watch was TV shows or movies that somebody illegally uploaded or cat videos. Lots and lots of cat videos. But some people were smart. They took this idea of a space on the internet to upload original content and ran with it. These smart people, the oldest working YouTubers, are Smosh, Ryan Higa, Shane Dawson, Ryan Higa, Lucas (Fred), etc...

But the first video I ever watched, I remember this one specifically, was one by Ryan Higa - uploaded in 2007 - called "How To Be Ninja." It was one of those videos that went viral at the time it was uploaded. To this day, it has over 37M views. Sure, it's a little corny and not filmed with the best camera out there, but it was videos like this that revolutionized YouTube. Slowly, YouTube became a place not only for instructional how-to-open-a-can videos but sketches, comedy, and (eventually) tag videos.

Who was the first YouTuber you ever watched? Do you remember which video it was? Leave me a comment!
